The Civilized Explorer 24/7 Reno Page

How many people actually pass through Reno during normal business hours? Well, a lot actually, but I don't think the Ministry of Statistics has ever collected that data. Here is a list of businesses that claim to be open all day.

Restaurants

Denny's has 4 locations and, of course, they are all open 24/7.

205 Nugget Ave., Sparks 359-9053 From Route 80, take Exit 18, Pyramid Way/Rt. 445 • turn right onto Pyramid Way at the end of the off ramp • turn onto Nugget Ave. • it's half a mile down the road.
1100 E. Plumb Ln., 829-2900 From Route 395, take Exit 65, Plumb Lane, (it's marked Exit 65A if you are southbound on 395) • go west on E. Plumb Lane 0.2 mile • and you're there!
5015 Pyramid Way, Sparks 424-4400 From Route 80, take Exit 18, Pyramid Way/Rt. 445 • go north on Pyramid Way 3 miles • it's just before Disc Dr. This is convenient if you are using the Pyramid Highway approach to the playa.
189 Damonte Ranch Parkway is reported to have free WIFI. 852-8200 From Rt. 395, take Exit 59, Damonte Ranch Parkway • turn right (east) onto Damonte Ranch Parkway and it's 0.1 mile down the road.

Sparky's Sports Bar, Grill, and Pizzeria at S. Meadows Parkway & Double R Blvd 853-7775 From Route 395, take Exit 60, S. Meadows Parkway • turn right (east) onto S. Meadows Parkway and proceed 0.3 mile up the road. This is convenient if you approach Reno from the south.

Bully's Sports Bar and Grill has 3 locations:

2955 N. McCarran Blvd., Sparks 352-8400 You'll need to take Rt. 395 NORTH of Rt. 80. From Rt. 395, take Exit 70, N. McCarran Blvd • turn right onto N. McCarran and go 1.6 miles.

2005 Sierra Highlands Dr. 746-8006 From Rt. 80, take Exit 10, W. McCarran Blvd • keep left at the fork, follow signs for N McCarran Blvd • go 0.7 mile and turn left onto Mae Ann Ave. • take the first right, Sierra Highlands Dr, and you're there!

18156 Wedge Parkway 851-7400 From Rt. 395, take Exit 56 to merge onto Mt Rose Hwy/NV-431 • turn right on Wedge Parkway and you're there!

The National Bowling Stadium restaurant is in downtown Reno at 300 N Center St 334-2600. From Rt. 80, take Exit 13, Virginia St. • go south on N. Virginia • go 0.4 mile and turn left onto E. Plaza St. • go a block and it's right in front of you.

Jelly Donut is also open 24/7 - I figure every town has a 24 hour donut shop to keep the police effective.

In Reno, go to 1750 S. Virginia 324-7272. From Rt. 395, take Exit 64, Moana Lane • go west on E. Moana Lane • go 0.7 mile and turn right onto S. Virginia • it's 1.1 miles ahead on the right. From Rt. 80, take Exit 13, Virginia St. • and it's 2 miles down on your left.

In Sparks, you have 2 choices! 663 N. McCarran Blvd. 331-5588 From Rt. 80, take Exit 19, E. McCarran Blvd • go north on N. McCarran Blvd. • go 0.5 mile and you're there! or 2245 Oddie Blvd. You'll take Rt. 395 NORTH of Rt. 80. From Rt. 395, take Exit 69, Oddie Blvd • turn right onto Oddie and it's 0.6 mile down the road.

Starbucks at 4809 Kietzke Ln is reported to be open 24/7. 827-1192 From Rt. 395, take Exit 63, Kietzke Lane, go north on Kietzke and it's 0.2 mile down the road.

Grocery Stores

Smith's Food and Drug has 2 sort-of convenient locations open 24/7. The first works if you are coming from the south. The second sort-of works if you are using Pyramid Highway to get to the playa.

750 S Meadows Parkway From Rt. 395, take Exit 60, S. Meadows Parkway • turn left onto S. Meadows Parkway and it's 0.6 mile down the road.
1255 Baring Blvd Sparks 359-6800 You'll need to take Rt. 395 NORTH of Rt. 80. From Rt. 80, take Exit 20, Sparks Blvd. • turn left onto Sparks Blvd. • go 2.1 miles and turn right onto Baring Blvd. • go 0.1 mile to the store.

Sac 'N Save at the corner of Plumb Lane and Harvard Way, close to REI and CostCo. From Rt. 395, take Exit 65, Plumb Lane • go west on E. Plumb Lane • Harvard Way is the first stoplight. Sac 'N Save is on the left.

Corner Minit Mart 1775 Mill St. (Keitzke Lane and Mill St.) 322-1577 From Rt. 395, take Exit 66, Mill St. • go west on Mill St. • Kietzke Lane is the first BIG intersection you find.

Short Stop Food Store 275 S. Wells Ave. (Wells St. & Ryland) 786-6911 From Rt. 80, take Exit 14, Wells Ave. • go south on N. Wells and it's 0.8 mile down the road.

Win Co Foods. has 2 locations open 24/7.

9750 S. Virginia 853-7474. From Rt. 395, take Exit 61, S. Virginia St. • go north on S. Virginia and it's 0.6 mile down the road.

The second is at 2855 Northtowne Lane 331-6966. You'll need to take Rt. 395 NORTH of Rt. 80. From rt. 395, take Exit 70, N. McCarran Blvd. • turn right onto N. McCarran Blvd. • go 0.2 mile and turn onto Northtown Lane and you're there!

The SuperK store has a regular KMart plus a grocery store. 4855 Summit Ridge Dr. 746-4700 Quite visible from eastbound Route 80 as you approach Reno, this store is not as easy to get to as it looks. Take Exit 10 (McCarran Blvd.), • go south onto S. McCarran Blvd. • continue on the ramp and then bear right onto Summit Ridge Dr • turn right at the stop sign and the Super K will be straight ahead to greet you!

Drug Stores

Walgreen's has 2 stores with pharmacies open 24/7.

The first is in downtown Reno, right over I-80 at Exit 13, Virginia St./Downtown Reno. 750 N. Virginia St. 337-8700 (store) 337-8703 (pharmacy).

The second is at 3495 S Virginia St at Moana Lane. 824-0800 (store) 824-0802 (pharmacy) From Rt. 395, take Exit 64, Moana Lane • go west on E. Moana Lane • go 0.7 mile and you're there!

CVS drug store at 680 N. McCarran Blvd. at E. Prater Way 359-6808 From Rt. 80, take Exit 19, E. McCarran Blvd. • go north on McCarran • it's a half mile up the road.

Long's Drugs at 1410 E. Prater Way at Sparks Blvd. 355-8943 From Rt. 80, take Exit 20, Sparks Blvd., • go north on Sparks Blvd. 1 mile to E. Prater Way • turn left onto E. Prater and it's a tenth of a mile.

Sav-On Drugs 195 W. Plumb Lane Note, the pharmacy is NOT open 24/7, but only 9:00 am - 9:00 pm Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday, and 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday. 786-0138

RV Dump

Allied Washoe Nite-N-Day RV dump and convenience store. 2500 E. 4th St. 329-4015 From Route 80, take Exit 16, E. 4th St. • at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Prater Way (this may be labeled E. 4th - the street changes name here) • it's 0.2 mile down the road.
